Hi! I'm Ron. I have 18 years experience building off-the-grid homes and educating people how to do it. Now I am offering my expertise to help people take their own existing homes off the grid so they are not as dependent on the current outdated infrastructure.
What is an off-grid retrofit?
Simply put, we take your exisiting home and make is more self-sufficient. First and foremost we incorporate passive and active solar systems, harvest rainwater and filter it, design greywater flush for toilets, and improve the thermal performance of your home. On a case by case basis we may be able to incorporate additional ways of ensuring the comfort and functionality of your home when the power and water services are interrupted.

Recent events have shown the fragility of the grids that provide for our most basic needs. These systems are only becoming more expensive and less reliable. By making your home function independent of these systems you are protecting your investment and the health and safety of your family from devastating consequences.
What services does off-grid-retrofit offer?
The first step is a personalized consultation. We will look at your existing power and water useage and your heating/AC needs and present you with a plan of action.
If your home has been damaged, some things can be resolved with a Zoom call to get things moving again. This involves video footage and pictures of the damage to the home. Most likely this will be frozen and burst pipes with minimal to extensive water damage.
